Graf Pillows

Mark didn't want to part with his old T shirts, but he didn't really want to wear them anymore either. So with my new sewing skills, we decided to make them into pillows. 3 down, 3 to go!

Mascots & Mugs Mention

Mentioned on 12ozPROPHET by Mare 139:
Mascots and Mugs had face display among them, so big up to Chino and Todd. All this publishing of art and culture adds to the complex dialogue going on, it also relates back to my postings in so being that emotions get mixed about the integrity of so much of it. Thankfully Mascots and Mugs digs deeper than most and covers alot of historical moments and also has interviews with the people who played a role.

Mascots & Mugs Party on Page 6

Yeah that's right! In the gossip column:
Outlaw Party

THE police could have ended the city's grafitti blight in one fell swoop with a raid of Auto, the Meatpacking District boutique where "Mascots & Mugs: The Cartoons & Characters of Subway Graffiti" was launched Monday night. The book by Todd "Reas" James and David "Chino" Villorente has a foreword by novelist Jonathan ("Motherless Brooklyn") Lethem - who had his own "tag" years ago with his brother, Blake (a k a Keo) - and drew vandals from every borough, including Kaws, Son One, West, Doc, Ven, Kaves, Pure, Cey, Lee, Wane, Sac, Haze and Noah. The place was so packed with spray-painters that graffiti fan David Rabin, a co-founder of Lotus, couldn't even get in.

From the New York Post's Page 6, December 13, 2007. Here it is.

Mascots & Mugs

Mascots & Mugs, the book I helped design with Chris Capuozzo, is Stussy's November feature. Click here to read Stussy's interview with the authors, Todd James and David Villorente.
Mascots & Mugs is in bookstores now. To celebrate its release, Stussy has commissioned 4 of the artists featured in the book to put their famous characters on limited edition tee shirts. Daze, Doc, Tack and Blade are all legendary graffiti artists who made a name for themselves hitting up trains. These special tee shirt designs will be released on Friday, November 23rd at Stussy LA, Stussy NY and Stussydirect.com.
Working with Chris, Todd James, and his wife Dana Albarella at Testify Books was an awesome experience, and I'm really proud of this project!
